Hello Curb Alert

A little paint and scrap fabric can make ALL the difference.
Can you seriously believe someone wanted to throw this out?
It was just sitting at the curb waiting for me!

Yellow and Green Bench Makeover

I wanted to give this old bench a fresh new look.   My pictures were also lacking for this post soo....
I of course went to Pinterest for some color inspiration and gorgeous pics.
I am soo into the green and yellow combo.

Sorry I forgot to snap a picture before I took it apart.
It was old, out of date, and just BORING!

I got this fun green and yellow geometric print fabric 50% off at Jo-Anns.
I simply stapled it over the old white floral pattern.
I spray primed the wood with primer and then two coats of a glossy yellow spray paint
that I got on closeout.  I just love quick projects like this.

Simple Side Table

My aunt bought this for us at a garage sale for $2.
One of the perks of redoing furniture...
We have several family members that treasure hunt occasionally for us.
This was a great solid piece just needed some paint.

I stained the top with dark walnut, and waxed.  I painted the rest white
and added a drawer pull that I already had.  I love the deep cubby in the top.
Its great storage for a quilt or throw, or remote controls.

Halloween "haunted" Sign Tutorial

1.I started with a piece of scrap wood.
2. Stained it with dark walnut wax and a coat of
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White.
3.  I printed out "haunted" and  traced the letters onto the wood.
4.  Hand Paint  the letters with black acrylic and then distressed with mouse sander.

I nailed the sign to some old fence boards I got for free.
I painted them black and nailed to some scrapwood
for a nice halloweenish yard display!  It was soo easy.

I did these the same way.  The "Salem Hat Co. is on scrap wood with a little glitter,
and the other was done on an old cabinet door.

Have a great weekend!  Fall weather has officially arrived here so come back to see more
fall projects soon.

Mini Project

I wanted to share a simple mini project today.  Its your basic before and after.  Sorry, I was in a rush, and the pictures are not my best.

I got this shelf at a garage sale for 75cents.  It was cute with lots of potential.  It was homemade, plain, and simple.  I painted it PINK.  In home of 5 boys...sometimes by go to color has to be GIRLY!!  I traced some giant ric rac I had on hand, and did my usual rub and trace letters that I printed from my computer.  I thought it would be a perfect book holder.
