PotteryBarn "Eschenlohr Probst" Knock-off Sign

Pottery Barn

I have been in love with this sign since I saw it in the potterybarn catalog in July.
Its not even on their website anymore because its already sold out.  So..
I snapped a photo of my catalog.
I called PB as soon as this came out to see what it said
No one at PB knew what it meant,
Nor could they even tell me what the letters on the bottom were.
They were not in stock so they told me to call back in 10 days.
They sold out of this $999 cast iron sign before they even came in.
So if anyone has one or knows who has one please let me know what it says.

I started with a piece of wood

I used a bowl to curve the edges and cut with my saw.
I used my overhead projector like I did HERE, HERE, and HERE
I used acrylic craft paint on the sign. Then stained and distressed.

See those wine bottles?  They covered 3 letters in the bottom word in the catalog.
So I stratigically placed my wine bottles too.  I searched several german websites,
but with no luck on a word that matched the letters that i had.

Here is Em's sign.  No... thats not a pottery barn pic, it Em's living room.
Pretty Awesome knock-off !!  I can brag for my sister.
I know what I want for Christmas.

Halloween Spider Nightstand

I got this at a garage sale for $2.
We absolutely LOVE halloween.
I am already dreaming of fall weather,
because today it was over 100 degrees
We are having the 2nd hottest summer on record here.

This table was rough on the surface, but was overall a solid piece.

I used a spider web cut out from the queen of Halloween ( MARTHA)
!  I just decoupages it on with modge podge after I sanded and painted this white.

I glued it down, and extended the web with paint.

I also drew some spiders, and decoupaged a
black halloween paper doile down in the bottom.

This was such a fun piece to do.  I can't wait to use it on my
porch this year!!

Pottery Barn Inspired Barstools

I am soo into typography and the look of these numbers that I
have now painted my own fabric with them on it.

Remember when I was inspired by this PB numbered canvas wall art for this table?

And then my library table inspired my back to school desk.

It has inspired yet another project.
Don't you just love it when that happens.
An idea just comes to you and everything falls into place perfectly.
I love how these barstools turned out.
I used the same number template that I created for the table on the barstools.
I used my overhead to trace the letters onto some canvas dropcloth.

This picture is not the greatest.
I accidentially deleted my other "in process" and "before" pics off of my camera.
I thought that they were already downloaded, and needed space for birthday pictures.
I painted the numbers with black acrylic craft paint and staple on the chairs.
They were covered in your standard, store bought industrial
neutral home decor fabric.  They were super basic and BORING!

They were very similar to this one.

Homemade Bench

Small Easy Rustic X Bench

I got the plans for this bench from the FABULOUS Ana White.  Her blog is absolutely amazing.
Its full of awesome plans to make your own pieces.  You can find the plans HERE for this bench.

I recruited my Dad for this project.  I headed to a local lumber yard near their house.
I intended on taking the wood home, and attempting it myself or recruiting my hubby, but I couldn't get
the wood home in my suburban with my kids in the car.  So I convinced my Dad to help me cut one.

My Dad taught me to measure one and cut twice measure twice and cut once!
Em's in the background supervising.

I brought my pieces home, and the kiddos couldn't wait to help put that bench together.

It turned out great.  The plans were very precise and super easy to follow.

I had a blast painting this one.  I think I have about a million options in my head to try.  Good thing
I bought enough wood to make about 4 of these.  I started by painting this with
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (ASCP).  I painted the first coat with "provence".

The second coat was countrey grey.  I sanded and distressed.
I then taped off the top and waxed the top with dark wax.
I also put some dark wax on all the edges and places that I distressed.

It looked much better and in person.  I just loved how the provence peaked through.
I didnt really have time for a proper photo shoot.
I was on my way to a quartermania where I already sold the bench.
I can't wait to make more.
