Double Weekend Feature and Sister Sunday Link Party

Sorry I never posted features from last week.
We had an AWESOME time at the concert.
Chris Young and Jarrod Neiman were FABULOUS!!
Bad news....we only got to hear one song from Miranda.
We had severe storms, and we left early to get home to the kids.
The tornado hit just a few miles from our home.
Living in Kansas we are used to tornados, but that was too close for comfort.
Luckily no one was killed or injured, but several neighborhoods lost their homes here.

I chose my favorites from the last two parties!!

Some Great DIY Knock-Offs

The colors of this sign spoke to me

I have a fascination with nautical flags too.  I have considered tatooing my
kids initials on my body.  Love the colors on this piece.

Ugly Duckling

I picked this ceramic duck up at an estate sale.  It  was  so cute, and as my kids would say it was a
"happy" duck.  It had been cracked and repaired on the beak.  The neck was also cracked.
I didnt know what to do with it until I was this on pinterest.

Pinned Image

I covered the duck in an old book with modge podge.
I then used a black sharpie to draw on my design.
I then painted it in, and covered in Martha Stewart Metallic Gold Glaze.
I love how it turned out.  It kind of gives you new perspective on
all the ceramics you see with a big old country bow one them.

Chip It

If want to have some fun...You have to check out Sherwin-Williams new tool, CHIP IT!  Its not that new, but I spent all morning searching for it.  I had seen it somewhere and forgot to PIN IT!!  Now i have it pinned and they even have a cool feature that you can add a "Chip It" button to your computer similar to a "Pin It" button.  As I was searching I realized that there are a lot of color generators, but I needed one that had PAINT colors to go with it.

I am always inspired by pictures for a piece of furniture, and spend a lot of time matching up colors.  Now this great tool does it for me!!  I got this pic from pinterest.  I loved the colors.  It was actually done HERE by designer Lita Johnson on her own computer program.  She has done a ton of beautiful combintations.   So go and check them out!
Here is what chip it pulled up!  It pulled the dark grey from the photo.  I cropped out the photo and just used the color swatches and here is what Chip It gave me.

Emily is planning on doing a table in white and a chair in each of these colors!!  Stay tuned to see how it turns out!!

Here are few more exampled for fun!!  It used images from my pinterest boards!

You can even pull extra colors with the click of a button!!
